PFAS - Free Tents and Camping Equipment
We are delighted to have become stockist for Outwell® this season , we're starting with some great value products arriving in May. While listing we couldn't help noticing that these products are now PFAS Free!
So what does this mean, here are a few words from Outwell®
Produced without the use of PFASs" means that no per- or polyfluoroalkyl substances (PFASs) were intentionally added in the manufacturing process of the product. PFASs cover chemicals that contain perfluorocarbons and are commonly used to make materials water- and dirt-resistant. However, PFASs also have adverse effects on humans and the environment, making them particularly problematic since they can persist in both the environment and the body for years. These substances are often referred to as "forever chemicals" because they are extremely stable and do not break down in the environment. By stating "produced without the use of PFASs"", we assure you that we have switched from using chemicals containing PFASs to new chemistry without any content of PFASs while still providing high-quality, water-resistant products.
