The Ghillie Kettle has been part of our range and our own camping kit for a number of years , made in Redditch, UK we are delighted to support this traditional Great British Brand. Based on a traditional style Irish Kettle , the Ghillie Kettle is handmade using traditional methods right here in the UK. The Original one with a whistle .. Ghillie Kettle were the first to replace the traditional cork or rubber bung with a whistle , a great safety feature …know just when the water has reached boiling point!
How to use a Ghillie Kettle … quick and simple to use , the Ghillie Kettle boils water in a matter of minutes!
- Water is poured into the spout to approx. 5-10ml below the spout. Warning: do not overfill and do not light when empty.
- The whistle is added. Only place the whistle on the spout. Do not push or force it on. Never approach the kettle from the front.
- Place fuel (twigs, fir cones, etc,) into the base.
- Light carefully and immediately place the kettle on the base. Once lit the flames will rise through the middle of the chimney.
- The hole at the side of the bottom of the pan allows more twigs, paper etc to be added and also allows oxygen to be absorved as the flames rise (you can also add fuel through the centre of the chimney).
- The whistle will sound when your water is ready! Instructions kindly provided by The Ghillie Kettle
What is the Ghillie Kettle Made from … Ghillie Kettles are made from Spun Aluminium , the standard Ghillie Kettle is simply Aluminium.
Ghillie Kettle is aslo available in Hard Anodised as close as you can get to Titanium while still using Aluminium.
Ghillie Kettles are both compact and lightweight , available in 3 sizes so you can choose the best one to suit your camping needs … also really handy cup measurements so you know you've got just enough water for your cup of Tea!
